'While working Hojo met and in his own way, fell in love with Lucrecia. He married her and they had a child, Sephiroth. Both scientists agreed they wished to make the perfect child. Injecting Lucrecia with many drugs to "help" the child improve even in the womb. However Lucrecia was not destined to live through the childbirth.' -test_and_prove

'Jenova was one of the few assistants involved in a special and top secret experiment involving a woman named Lucrecia. Several complications occured during the experiment, resulting in the apparent "death" of Lucrecia. There were some suspicions that Jenova had something to do with the experiment malfunctioning, but proof of this never surfaced; and because she was only an assistant and the nature of the experiment, further investigation of foul play ceased.' - jenova_cells

The past was gone. Lucrecia was thought to be gone; the 'accident' that had resulted in her death was overlooked. Her body disappeared, no one thought twice about her. Lucrecia was dead to the world, including the one man she loved beyond all reasoning, and everything else - the then Turk Vincent Valentine.

Lucrecia's past is tainted with many decisions that she deeply regrets. Her relationship with Vincent Valentine a number of years ago was ended because she blamed herself for his fathers death. The relationship and soon marriage to Hojo was purely for her work - and the child she concieved that they named Sephiroth. But the experiment, the one that took most of her sanity and took her child away from her - the embedding of Jenova's cells into her womb, taking Sephiroth to extreme perfection. Regret won't take it back. Lucrecia took the sign of her supposed death and escaped when they left her body unattended. Jenova's cells, with the combined effect of childbirth, had taken her to a level of the deepest sleep...deep enough to slow her heart to an almost halt and make her lifestream stop completely. Hojo along with many of his assistants, overlooked her conditions and immediately declared her dead. Was this deliberate? Did Jenova wish to destroy the rightful mother to Sephiroth, and failed unknowingly? Did Hojo care this his wife had passed on to another life?

She ran. As soon as her emerald eyes opened, she ran for her life and never appeared in Gilgamesh City again. Until the realisation that running doesn't lead you to answers. Years later, Lucrecia returned to the city she once called home, and took up residence within the lower class society, which she thought could hide her identity. She remains hidden to this day from the likes of Hojo, Jenova and sadly Vincent.

Lucrecia has yet to determine what Jenova's cells have done to her, of which have spread and have become one with her being. She will make her presence known when the time is right, and seek those answers from Jenova herself.

Other notes: Lucrecia is in a state of mental instability. Jenova's cells not only affected her beloved son, but her as well. The effects are as of yet unknown. She is prone to sudden outbreaks of extreme distress, and sometimes will try to kill another in order to escape from her life, hoping to steal theirs. In rare occurances, she's quite beautiful in nature.
